Project Updates - GCEP Cleanout - for LATA/Parallax Portsmouth, LLC at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in southern Ohio

PROJECT UPDATE : Old centrifuge equipment is removed by the United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC) to be dispositioned by LATA/Parallax Portsmouth, LLC.

Cleanout of the Gas Centrifuge Enrichment Plant (GCEP)

This project entrusted to LATA/Parallax Portsmouth, LLC (LPP) provided an accelerated cleanup of the Gas Centrifuge Enrichment Plant (GCEP) buildings for use by the United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC) to develop an advanced uranium enrichment process. The program was completed in August 2006, more than seven months ahead of schedule. It included cleanout of designated waste and centrifuge equipment in two process buildings, relocation of office space for waste management operations, maintenance, storage and training, and project management. LPP was responsible for disposition of 1,383 old centrifuge casings removed by USEC in the former GCEP facilities, and other GCEP equipment.
